Lips For Days With No Sacrifices
Hello and salutations friends! It’s been a while. I’ve been very naughty and haven’t posted in 2 whole months (gasp). I know I know, spare me your disappointed face, I can feel it through the screen. I was recently gifted some products by the magnificent brand 14e Cosmetics and I just had to share them with you. I mean that’s what best friends are for, right? (we are best friends, right?)
Growing up in California, as well as in my particular family, I was educated very early on in the importance of clean products. Whether it be the food we eat, or the makeup products we put on our skin, my mother and my aunt Sarah have always stressed the importance of living a life without unnecessary toxins and chemicals. Living that lifestyle and having an untamable love for beauty was hard for me to reconcile at first. Sometimes I felt like I needed to sacrifice the natural aspect in order to find good products. Well not anymore! This brand has solved all those problems. Hold on to your seat folks, what I’m about to tell you just might blow you away. Listen closely, these products not only work like magic, but are also 100% natural AND vegan, as well as 100% cruelty-free, paraben-free, toxin-free, and chemical-free. These are no ordinary lippies. These Lip Sheens are described on their website as “lip treatment”s and I couldn’t have said it better myself. These really aren’t lipsticks: they’re comfortable like a balm, pigmented like a lipstick, yet nourishing like a treatment. They also have a really refreshing minty tingle. Really the best of all worlds. They come in four colors: Clarity, a clear shade, Petal, a dusty rose with a hint of purple, Sumac, a classic red, and my personal favorite Bayberry, a gorgeous everyday berry.
When I tell you these are pigmented, I’m not joking. One swipe and you get full coverage, it’s incredible. One of my favorite berry lipsticks used to be Glossier’s Jam, but Bayberry might just take the #1 spot for me. There’s something so romantic and soft about this berry. It’s almost a brick reddish-berry on my skin tone; it has become irreplaceable in my kit. It makes me feel like a fairy and like I could take down the world all at once. The best thing is that I know this lipstick was made by people who care. It was formulated, as aforementioned, without nasties and 14e really does care about your wellbeing. It’s a guilt-free beautiful lippie without any sacrifices or second thoughts.
I love wearing Petal with a bold, dark eyeliner to balance out its soft nature and I love blotting Sumac for an effortless red lip look. I’ve also been applying Clarity every night before bed, and even my Sahara Desert of a lip hasn’t seen a single crack in days. Magic!
I truly wouldn’t be saying any of this unless I really meant it. To be honest, I was a little nervous about these lippies, as most of the natural lipsticks I have tried before have been grainy and just not awesome to wear. I’ve found that natural lipsticks are harder to perfect than other natural makeup products. I really shouldn’t have worried, though, because these 14e Lip Sheens are better than some of the high-end lipsticks I have. The color lasts long, the formula is clean AND comfortable, the shades are universally flattering, and you know I love a good peppermint tingle. You no longer have to break the bank for good lippies and you don’t have to sacrifice morals for good products.
14e made me remember how important it is to stay true to your convictions and morals. Emma Fortini, the radiant founder of 14e, created this brand because she too realized how limited the natural beauty industry is (read more about them on their website linked above). Instead of settling for something less than, she was courageous enough to pave a new path. Their story is such an inspiration and out of it we got some pretty incredible products.
