The Apple of My Eye Makeup
Hello hello hello and salutations! We made it through March folks (for a second I did NOT think I would). I don’t know what day it was for you in your country and region, but March 13, 2020 was the day my little part of the world was closed down because of the Corona Virus. To say that through all these trials and hardships that I actually made it to April 2021 truly is something December 2020 Olivia doubted she would be able to do. There’s a quote that I keep close to my heart, “all this pain will teach you everything worth knowing” and through the testing of my endurance I found it to be true. All the lessons I learned (no matter how hard the situation accompanying the lesson was) are much more valuable than the momentary hardships it took to learn them, no matter how suffocating and never ending it seemed. I made it through 100% of my worst days, you can too.
I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for reading my blog, truly it means everything to me and I will never be able to thank you enough. I will work hard to bring you fresh new content and some more interesting posts. Please believe in me! I was a lucky little ducky this month and got to try lots of new products, so I’m especially excited to tell you all about what I found. Well then, without further ado, let’s get into the first product!
Okay hear me out. I don’t know if anyone else relates, but the idea of all the work it takes to remove makeup sometimes makes putting on makeup less fun. Thinking about that waterproof mascara practically glued to my eyelashes is enough to make me avoid using waterproof mascara. Nothing should get in the way of you and using the makeup you love so never fear friends, I have found a solution. Enter Farmacy’s Sweet Apple Clean, a very cute and very sweet take on their original cleansing ball, Green Clean. This balm works wonders. Alone or paired with the Makeup Eraser Towel for extra strength, this balm very gently yet very thoroughly erases all traces of makeup, even the heavy duty waterproof kind. I am a sucker for cute limited edition versions of my favorite products (can you blame me?) and also a lover of apple scented things, so this product checked off all the boxes for me. This balm smells like apple heaven, just like my favorite Autum Apple Candle from Trader Joe’s. Not even exaggerating, I was honestly blown away by the smell of this balm. It smells like happiness mixed with the freshest apple cider. The balm itself is also extra sweet as it features a pink and gold duo toned balm. This product, along with the original and cherry variety, is vegan, silicone-free, and paraben-free, SCORE! For all my oily skinned friends there’s nothing to fear. This oil (like most other cleansing oils) pulls out oil, leaving your face fresh and clean.
My favorite part of this balm is the fact that it so easily wipes away all traces of makeup and sunscreen. No tugging or stinging required to remove even the most stubborn waterproof mascara with this charming little balm. At $34.00 USD this might seem a little pricy but I promise you it lasts forever and is so worth it. You only need a tiny bit to remove all your makeup so this 3.4 oz tub will last you a while. It’s available online but I bought mine off Sephora :).
Here’s a little look into my routine now that this balm has been incorporated into it.
Step 1: Wash hands. This goes without saying but please wash your hands before touching your face. Many thanks.
Step 2: Take a small, dime sized amount of the Farmacy Balm and melt in my hands and rub on entire face or areas with makeup.
Step 3: Wipe off balm with Makeup Eraser Towel and rinse off face with water.
Step 4: Wash with the Krave Matcha Cleanser (read more about my favorite cleansers HERE)
Step 5: Gently TAP off water and apply Go-To’s Face Hero (read about Face Hero HERE)
Step 6: Use Gua Sha and apply lip balm (read about my favorite lip balm HERE)
Like I mentioned before, nothing should get in-between you and using the makeup you love. You shouldn’t have to worry about how difficult it might be to take off a funky graphic eye or your favorite waterproof mascara or liner. Makeup is supposed to be freeing, this balm erases all of the worries that come with the reset routine at the end of your day. Let us not forget about that apple smell either… its SO good.
If you read this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every post you read is getting me that much closer to my dreams, and for that I am unexplainably grateful.
