I’ve been completely GLOWN away

Salutations friends! How are you? I hope you’re doing well. It’s been nearly two weeks since I last posted and I have missed being here more than I can explain. Apparently managing AP tests and blogging at the same time isn’t a skill I’ve acquired, but I’m working on it. Blogging truly brings so much joy to me, I hope my small little blog would bring you happiness too. If I can connect someone to their dream product, remind someone who hasn’t been told already how worthy and beautiful they are, or make them feel a little less alone, then my blogging and my passion is justified. So thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. By reading this you are giving someone a chance to pursue their life’s greatest passion and for that I could never thank you enough. Okay, sorry for being so sentimental there (I can’t help myself), let me tell you about these revolutionary products from non other than the incredible Glow Recipe.

Glow Recipe has been one of my favorite brands for a long time now. Not only do they make incredible, fun, inspiring, and very fruity products, but their founders, Christine Chang and Sarah Lee, have been a huge inspiration for me since I found their brand. I can not tell you what it felt like for younger Olivia to see someone that looked like me and came from the same place as me create such an inventive and beautiful brand. It was overwhelming in the best dang possible way.

Quick story break. One fateful day I was scrolling on the ol’ instagram as one does when I came across a story on the Glow Recipe instagram saying that the founders of some of my favorite brands (Youth To The People, Kosas, Brigeo, and Glow Recipe) were going to be holding a discussion on Clubhouse. My first instinct was to scream (which I did) and throw my phone across my room onto my bed (which I also did). I hadn’t the slightest clue what Clubhouse was, all I knew was some of my role models and biggest inspirations were going to be holding a conversation and I might be able to listen. I. Went. Crazy. I ran to my bed and promptly downloaded the app in a panic, only to find that Clubhouse is very exclusive and I would be waitlisted for who knows how long. I started panicking even more, absolutely dead set on listening to them converse. Luckily my fantastic aunt (shout out to you Ann Emo) had been on Clubhouse and, like an absolute angel, let me in. I absorbed every word that was uttered in that Clubhouse, literally sobbing while taking notes because I was so honored and overwhelmed to be listening. I haven’t missed a single BFF (beauty founder fireside, the name of the a room in which they converse) and I never plan on it.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled blog post. Glow Recipe products are no joke. One whiff of their Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask (really any of their products, but I am especially addicted to the watermelon ones) and I kid you not, you will be hooked. It is ADDICTIVE I tell you, the formula, scent, AND packaging. Made from REAL FRUIT (que gasp sounds), their products will blow you out of the water(melon). I could very easily rant about this brand for hours, but I selected my two favorite products to share with you today. Brace yourself for my two favorite hydrating, glowing, watermelon scented products and lots of watermelon puns. This brand is truly one in a melon.

Okay, let’s start with the lip balm that I have been eyeing since it launched, the Lip Pop in Watermelon Glow. I was instantly intrigued when I had learned that this bubblegum pink balm was infused with AHA’s, an ingredient I had never seen in a lip balm before. For those who are confused, AHA is short for alpha hydroxy acid, a common ingredient in chemical exfoliants as well as a plethora of other skincare products. Commonly used to reduce wrinkles and/or exfoliate, AHA’s have become a very well loved ingredient in the beauty world. It seemed like an brilliant idea to put it in a lip balm, and I was not disappointed in the least. This balm completely blew me away. First of all, the scent. This balm is filled with that unexplainably magnificent watermelon scent. I kid you not these products smell more like a fresh, juicy watermelon than some fresh, juicy watermelons do. That, of course, comes from the fact that it DOES have watermelon in it. Phenomenal, que the clapping sounds! (listen really closely and you’ll hear them). The formula is creamy, ultra hydrating, and smoothing, I couldn’t have asked for more. The AHA’s exfoliate the dead skin off your lips, leaving a perfect base for the nourishing ingredients to make your lips unreasonably soft. I find it lasts long on the lips, unlike other balms that you need to reapply every 3 seconds. The AHA’s also provide a tingling minty feel that I adore. The color is quite a bright bubblegum pink color in the bullet, but I find it to look quite natural and delicate on the lips. I am hooked. At $22.00 USD it is on the pricier side, but I think it is well worth every penny. Snag yourself one at glowrecipe.com or click the photo to be sent straight to the product!

Can you smell the watermelon from here? Can you feel the hydration? ☻

(I can!)

This was actually the first full sized Glow Recipe product that I had bought, so it has a very special place in my heart. For starters, this mist is the FINEST mist I have ever experienced in a spray before. It is a CLOUD, a lovely fog of watermelon scented hydrating goodness. One spray and I was glazed with the finest mist I had ever experienced. The scent, the hydration, the packaging, it was love at first spray. The scent feels as if you’re being surrounded the most luxurious watermelon fog. This is such a brilliant little mist for all who wish for a mid-day pick me up refresh or just want to bask in a cloud of hydrating, glow-ifying, watermelon goodness. I keep mine by my desk for whenever I need some hydration or just want to smell the scent (okay, it might seem like I’m talking about the scent a lot but it is really that good, try it and you’ll understand). It’s hydrating, non sticky, and makes your skin feel so soft. I love it on top and before makeup. Did I mention the scent?

Glow Recipe is truly such an incredible brand. From their chic and very adorable packaging, to their stellar, fruity formulas, to their AMAZING scents, this brand has it all. They are truly one in a melon.

If you read this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every post you read is getting me that much closer to my dreams, and for that I am unexplainably grateful.
